Faqs

What level should I undress to?

I can work over the clothes and with oil where you will be properly draped. I typically incorporate both but session is for your comfort and healing so this can be adjusted based on request. Sessions can be completely clothed if desired.

Do you offer sliding scale?

At this point, I do not offer sliding scale appointments, but I am happy to refer you to therapists that do if need be as I understand how costs can be prohibiting.

Does the length of service include check-in and post-care discussion?

The length of service includes an additional buffer time for pre and post hands-on bodywork. Typically, this buffer is 20-30 minutes total. Any exception to this will be communicated. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, the hands-on session part of your service may need to be cut depending, with price remaining at agreed upon length.

I have a trauma background and touch is very sensitive to me. Are you trauma-informed?

There is no standardized measurement or certificate to assess a caregiver’s level of being trauma-informed. I have worked with trauma as a massage therapist, in the role of a client/patient, and within the mental health setting. I have also been trained in trauma-informed care and seek to apply the principles of safety, trustworthiness, autonomy/agency, choice, and empowerment to all sessions. I am happy to discuss more specifically ways to build those into our sessions as needed. Some examples might be increasing verbal consent, going slower, avoiding certain areas, or taking breaks in sessions.
